The Customer Pilot Hub – A Further Step Towards Open Innovation

February 18th 2026, Würzburg
The StableNet® Innovation Lab was launched almost three years ago, ushering in a new level of innovation management at Infosim®. Just as the projects have progressed over the past few years, the lab has also continued to evolve. With the new StableNet® 26 Annual Release, the Innovation Lab is introducing a new extension: The Customer Pilot Hub.

What is the StableNet® Innovation Lab?

Before we dive into the brand-new Customer Pilot Hub, let’s take a step back and let us introduce you to our StableNet® Innovation Lab.

As a spin-off of the University of Würzburg, research and development has always been woven into our Infosim® DNA. Our research activities include numerous funded research projects with industry and research institutions, regular collaborations with universities and colleges, and active participation in TM Forum Catalyst projects.

We founded have created the StableNet® Innovation Lab with the aim to solve the most pressing challenges in modern network management. We want to explore new technologies and topics such as Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Quantum Computing, and much more in the context of network management and our platform solution StableNet®. Contrary to a closed, linear approach, the lab creates a space for open innovation, where we actively involve customers, partners, and interested parties to link theoretical research with real-world applications and needs.

Introducing the Customer Pilot Hub

The Customer Pilot Hub offers a knowledge base that provides insights into current and past research activities and shares the learnings and results gained from them. By sharing these insights, we want to enable users to benefit from this knowledge and offer them the opportunity to contribute with their own ideas.

We are grateful that the StableNet® Innovation Lab has been received with such enthusiasm and high interest by our customers and partners. As an extension to our open innovation approach, we want to use the Customer Pilot Hub to create another channel for knowledge inflow and outflow in order to share current project status, best practices and findings, but also to create a basis for feedback and ongoing cooperation.

Innovation Workflow

To get a better idea of how the new Customer Pilot Hub fits in, let’s take a look at the innovation process and the opportunities for collaboration within the StableNet® Innovation Lab.

Pool of Potential Projects

Based on valuable feedback from customers and partners, market trends, results from past research and projects, and as well as internal knowledge, a pool of potential projects and topics has been created that we would like to address within the framework of our StableNet® Innovation Lab. A selection of these, ranging from energy efficiency and AIOps to visualization and more, can be found on the community portal along with the current project status.

Engagement Level 1: Individual Meetings

If one or more of the selected topics and projects are of interest to you, or if you would like a general insight into our research activities and the Innovation Lab, we are happy to invite you to an individual, obligation-free introductory meeting. It’s an opportunity to get to know each other without any firm commitment.

Engagement Level 2: Regular Exchange Meetings

If you are interested in receiving updates on specific projects, we would be pleased to arrange regular exchange meetings. We welcome feedback, an open exchange of ideas, and discussions regarding potential collaboration.

Engagement Level 3: Active Contribution within the Customer Pilot Program

If you are interested in actively participating in one or more projects, you will become part of the Customer Pilot Program with the goal of creating a successful proof of concept (PoC) or pilot. Here you will also have access to the Collaboration Center, which provides interactive access to a wide range of additional information and content.

Customer Pilot Hub

Once a project has successfully achieved PoC status or has replicable results, the methodological approach and associated results are captured in our Customer Pilot Hub using synthetic or anonymized data, ensuring that all proprietary customer information remains strictly confidential. The Customer Pilot Hub functions as a knowledge database that compiles project results along with best practices from past and current research work. This, in turn, provides a further basis for exchange, feedback, and future collaboration.

Insight into the Customer Pilot Hub

The Customer Pilot Hub is a central repository for the outcomes and solutions developed within the StableNet® Innovation Lab covering topics, such as “How to integrate LoRaWAN with StableNet®,” “Beyond 2D Visualization”, “THz High Speed Wireless Link Monitoring” and many more.
The “setup effort” from easy to extended classifies the posts according to the difficulty of transferring the findings to a new use case. The Customer Pilot Hub can be accessed via the Community Portal.
