After the completion of the award-winning research project \u201cAI NET\u201d<\/a>, another great Celtic Next project was launched at the beginning of this year: \u201cSUSTAINET\u201d<\/a>. The EU-funded flagship project is divided into three sub-projects \u201cSUSTAINET Advance\u201d, \u201cSUSTAINET guarDian\u201d and \u201cSUSTAINET inNOvAte\u201d, which focus on the use of sustainable technologies for advanced, resilient and energy-efficient networks. Together with its subsidiary SKOOR GmbH, Infosim\u00ae<\/sup> is very pleased to be able to participate in the \u201cSUSTAINET Advance\u201d<\/a> sub-project.<\/p>\n

Sustainable, intelligent, resilient \u2013 communication networks as the backbone of our society<\/h2>[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.27.4″ background_color=”RGBA(255,255,255,0)” global_colors_info=”{}”]The reliability of communication networks is not only essential for everyday interpersonal interaction, but also for critical infrastructure such as energy supply, healthcare, and public safety. The importance of robust, fail-safe communication networks becomes particularly apparent in times of crisis such as natural disasters, cyberattacks, terrorist attacks, and similar events. These networks are essential for coordinating rescue teams and relief efforts, maintaining basic supply functions, and ensuring a reliable information flow.\n\nAt the same time, the sustainability of these networks is becoming increasingly important due to rising energy requirements. The key here is to minimize energy consumption while maintaining reliable, high-quality communication. Subject of the project<\/h2>[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.27.4″ background_color=”RGBA(255,255,255,0)” global_colors_info=”{}”]The SUSTAINET project aims to develop innovative technologies and solutions that improve the resilience, energy efficiency, and sustainability of networks. Over the next three years, more than 80 companies consisting of leading research institutions and industry partners from various European countries will pool their expertise and experience to address the question of how advanced technologies can be used to create sustainable networks.\n\nThe development of a reference architecture for resilient communication networks is the core topic of the SUSTAINET Advance subproject. The focus here is on 6G networks and on the development of new concepts and possibilities for making critical network infrastructures more fail-safe and robust. To this end, research is being conducted into the use of zero-trust frameworks, large language models, and genAI to improve the monitoring of these network infrastructures. At the same time, this is being done with a focus on sustainability and the energy-efficient and resource-saving design of network architectures. Infosim\u00ae<\/sup>\u2019s Contribution<\/h2>[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.27.4″ background_color=”RGBA(255,255,255,0)” global_colors_info=”{}”]

As a company in the field of software and IT solutions, we are bringing our extensive experience in automated network management and monitoring into the project in order to investigate the effects of various scenarios on the performance of network infrastructures. In doing so, we are examining the interrelationships and factors that influence energy consumption in the network area in order to make management and monitoring as energy-efficient as possible.<\/p>\n

Another focus is on researching the possible applications of Large Language Models and genAI in various areas of network management \u2013 from AI-supported discovery, processing, and monitoring to dashboard and reporting capabilities. In addition, we are building on and expanding upon the research findings from the previous Celtic Next project \u201cAI-NET\u201d in the area of forecasting and anomaly detection using ML algorithms.<\/p>\n

The SUSTAINET Advance project fits perfectly with our active research activities at Infosim\u00ae<\/sup>. The experience and insights gained from these past and current projects form a solid foundation for us. SKOOR\u2019s Contribution<\/h2>[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.27.4″ background_color=”RGBA(255,255,255,0)” global_colors_info=”{}”]

SKOOR is a KPI dashboard and reporting solution developed by the Swiss software company SKOOR GmbH<\/a>, which has been part of the Infosim\u00ae<\/sup> Group since 2023. SKOOR provides business and service managers with real-time dashboards to monitor and manage their business processes and services end-to-end from a central Command Center.<\/p>\n

This extensive experience in data integration, data visualization, automation and the configuration of dynamic dashboards to strengthen real-time transparency. In the project, the focus is on the development ofan AI-supported real-time framework for holistic network monitoring and intelligent control.<\/p>\n

SKOOR\u00b4s role is focusing on creating dynamic dashboards that automatically display sustainability KPIs, as well as real-time monitoring of energy consumption and CO2 emissions. David is coordinating the research activities at Infosim\u00ae<\/sup>, where he is working on several national and international research projects with a main scope being on the Future of Automated Network & Service Management. Additionally, he is also coordinating the cooperation with leading academic institutions and relevant industry partners.
